Each week we will do a feature post on the holiday/event of the week which encourages sending a card. We want to briefly discuss the Jewish holiday – Rosh Hashanah – which begins the evening of September 22, 2006.
Rosh Hashanah, one of the holiest days in Jewish customs, celebrates the creation of the world and is a time for reflection and self evaluation. Typically Rosh Hashanah is observed in a synagouge but you will find that the celebration is continued with lunch and dinner. A special meal component is Hallah which is loaves of egg bread braided in a round shape on Shabbat. Some other foods that are associated with Rosh Hashanah include apples, fish, and pomegranate.
ZeVin Creations believes that you can use a card to encourage your friends and family on a glorious new year. We would like to say to our fellow Jewish readers “L’Shana Tova“.
